Infamous Rap Show 29th January 1993 Jamm FM Pompey with Duce & Waxer
on January 4th, 2009 at 10:48 amYes folks I’ve got another tape rip from the archives here for ya, this time me and Duce on the wheels in the flat in Somerstown droppin’ some knowledge on heads…
Back in this era I went from being called Radiate (my 2nd DJ name, the first was ESTEEM, don’t ask me why!) cos I loved cuttin’ up all the times Rakim says Radiate on his tracks. Back then I was training a lot and got the nickname Madd Dogg by the people I trained with for various reasons and I kinda adopted that.
God knows when I changed, or indeed when Waxer became my name of choice, but still!
This is a decent show and because podpress won’t drop 2 bits of audio into the iTunes subscription, I am now upping shows as 1 complete 2 hour show. This tape has seen better days and side 2 is a bit wobbly at the start but settles down after a bit.

When I was ripping this show it brought back loads of memories, I literally haven’t listened to it for 15 years! I used to play Duce up somthing terrible, tickling him when he was on the mic, makin’ him laugh, generally pissing about, and when we were all in the studio we all used to do it cos he was a stress head and was laughing but also wanted to kick our heads in!
Also I remember the Tap The Bottle tune causing debate as I’d seen Young Black Teenagers with either EPMD or PE and they got really badly booed, but when the Notting Hill Carnival was on, this tune made the crowd go mad, so we debated whether to play it or not, and I know that they were on that Das FX sorta tip and a bit of a concept group with the Young Black Teenagers name and all being white, but still, this was a TUNE!
Also this show contains one of my fave cuts of all time, Diamond Ds Check 1,2 and that is a bit oof a signature tune for me. The Diggin in the crates section is interesting too, with cuts from the late 80s.
Well, that’s it. enjoy, leave some comments, peace, Steve.
