Really interesting stuff, Steve.
I was a Spectrum kid way back when as well although used to get a little envious of the nice colour range of Commodore 64's.
Mainly used mine for gaming and a little BASIC programming. I remember typing in all those long cheats and POKES from CRASH magazine and then the damn game would decide not to load. And the girl who edited the cheats section in the mag was a bit of a hottie IIRC - well to my 13-year old mind anyway.
Fred's got rhythm, hasn't he?! I nver heard of SpecDrum but it sounds pretty good esp. as I only ever used to get glitchy drum sounds while playing Rambo First Blood or something.
Nice one, buddy.
