Ladies n Gents I have been royally fuc*ed on the price of the calendars. The original supplier had hidden costs and tried to charge me nearly double the price you guys paid… remember I make NO MONEY out of this! So, I am trying to get another supplier to make the calendars at the price I charged but having some difficulty getting this done, but I guarantee your calendars will be out to you next week, even if I have to make the money up myself (which is looking likely!!!)

After the show last night I took a poll in the chatroom of who would like me to reinstate the Disco Scratch Forum.  Well, this was unanimous to every person in the chat.  I wasn’t originally going to do this before I did this quick poll, but it seems like there are a lot of people (myself included) who find it a total pain in the arse to keep up with all the social outlets like facebook, twitter et al… So the public has spoken and the forum is now online.  It was always there but I had it locked down to new registrations.

I would not have opened the forum if the Heroes forum had not shut down… Websta’s forum is/was such a dope place to hang out and fill your dome with old school knowledge.  The thing is, the site is going from strength to strength and Websta & Boris are working hard to ensure the information you need for your old school heroes so please make sure you check the site…

So, that’s it for this quick update, the forum only has one single section, none of us considered it worth it to have loads of sub sections and such, just one main general section… I borrowed Masta Ace’s song title for this, “Postin’ High” as I thought that might be (hopefully) what people will be doing…

So PLEASE support the forum, if it was down to me I’d step away from facebook and only keep it all to DS, but so many people are on there I kind of feel obliged to be on there… Still, my expert web analyst (Uncle Repo) has informed me he thinks FB will be dead in a year, so we are looking at a way to centralise all the information you need.  I have looked at Diaspora and Google Plus as a way of you guys being able to have an experience similar to FaceBook, with the exception that your information is not shared to all and sundry (With Diaspora) as I can install it on my own server and users control their own access priveleges.  It’s open source and I think a lot of people will be migrating to that… if they have an option to migrate all your information from FB to Diaspora, it’s an easy thing to do… anyway, we’ll see… I am experimenting with something called “Socialgo” at the moment, some of you were involved in a trial I did with that a couple of years ago, it’s now on version 2 and much improved, so I might trial that again (although it’s not open source so we’ll see).

Yes yes, Disco Scratch is PROPERLY BACK with a new piece of studio kit meaning the microphone is BACK!!! Yep, old Waxer Claus will be here dribbling Hip Hop knowledge from a nearly 30 YEAR LISTENING SPAN, fogged by 20 years worth of Red Stripe & “Art films”… yes it’s all here, come and sit on Waxers knee and whisper in his ear what you would like for Christmas.

So, what’s in store for this CHRISTMAS SPECIAL??? Well, how about some festive Hip Hop joints to get you moving (and not 2 hours straight off the Christmas Rappin’ LPs either!), some Sleigh Bell tinged FUNK, some exclusive tracks from the vaults and new cuts that pass the Waxer seal of authority as certified DOPE… and that’s just for starters!

I’ll be going through the phone book and ringing up a few old school UK heads from back in the day and wishing them a merry christmas live on air around 10 o’clock, see what they’ve been up to and what’s in store for the next year… giving you some jam news on what’s worth going to for New Years plus what Disco Scratch has in store for you in 2012 (if we’re not all wiped out obviously!)

Indeed this lyric from Nas is particularly relevant right now for me… I have been a ghost on my usual internet haunts in the last couple of months and barely able to scrape a show together, let alone actually do a DECENT show!

So, look… this is just to say I’ll hopefully be back on air in the near future, but right now the DOV is temporarily out of service until I manage to stop working endless 14 hour days and GET SOME GOT DAMN SLEEP!!!!!

I really don’t know what to write… those of you who check this site for your regular hit of old school UK heritage Hip Hop will know that I am a 70s child who grew up in the 80s… and if any of you reading this are that too… then there’s no way you could look back at your youth without remembering Jim’ll fix it at some point… that big chair, that Jim’ll fix it badge… the unlit cigar and those tracksuits!  Whatever music your ears siphoned into your brain in your youth, Hip Hop, soft American rock, I dunno, maybe Def Lepord or Dire Straits, maybe Suttin’ like Cameo… whatever.  I bet Jimmy Saville was a part of your life, and this post is simply to say that Jimmy Saville will live on in Disco Scratch… I expect my homey Repo136 is feeling a little melancholy on this day too, so expect an ABU!/DS tribute to the man real soon…

Wattup family, a quick update to let you know what a gwarn… After a fair bit of stress, going through money like my slippered feet go through cold dog jizz puddles, 4 weeks of non stop work and blah blah my life is manic etc, I am now resident in the South East Sector, Kent to be precise (exact location removed or I’ll be papped/love notes from supermodels on the door/dog shit on fire through the letterbox)…

So in terms of Disco Scratch, my aim is to get back on air on Thursday 10th November.  Now if I manage to pull some strings I might get my broadband on earlier, so I’ll be on Thursday 3rd November (hopefully!).  I spoke with Repo yesterday and explained the dicey possibility of broadcasting his ABU! takeover show over a 3G connection… hmnn, I dunno, this could be a bit risky, however I know some internet jiggery pokery can be done to make it work I’m sure…

I bought a business as well so I’m now working an average 80 hour week as I’m still working for THE MAN as well, so pretty full on, but still, gotta make them endz!  After I speak with Websta & Repo plus some others in the mix, 3 The Hard Way could be combining with our brothers from other mothers to bring you a Christmas extravaganza, more to be revealed as soon as we have the info…
