I really want to put an event on this year I think it would be quality. I haven't thought about venue, performances or location yet, it's extremely early days, but if I'm going to do it properly I need to start thinking about it now.
I'd rather not charge, but obviously I will need to to cover costs. It's totally non profit and if it all goes well, I'll do the same as I did for the HOUKHH event and we put all the cash left behind the bar for you to have a beer, that's how we roll.
So, this thread is for any ideas or suggestions you might have.
My mind goes at a million miles per nano second so I've already thought about loads of possible artists to perform (like Derek Griffiths, David Bellamy, John Nettles), oh and Hardnoise (I wish!)
Any connections to B Boys/writers/DJs/MCs/Crews/Beatboxers etc for anyone you think might be interested, please post in here and PM me some contact details as and when you get round to it. It's important that everyone knows this is a purely non profit event and just for the love of the Hip Hop culture in good old Blighty, celebrating the roots of the UK Hip Hop scene.
I was thinking of having a "Freshest Dressed" award for anyone that turns up in something like a click suit or dapper dan, pin rolled chipies, traffic light jacket, starter jacket, you know, Troop trainers (original of course) BK or MGM tracksuits, you all know the flave.
Maybe a biscuit eating contest? I dunno, I just really want to have a laugh and give something for the supporters of the site, the culture and the scene something to remember!
