AT LAST!

A rip of this has finally come to light, massive props to my man DuckAlert for ripping this and doing the editing, cheers mate!

This tape came about cos me, Jim & Stew (Panoramix) were all going to the Battle Of The Year 1996 in Germany and Jim & I decided to knock up a tape to flog at the event.  So Jim provided most of the Wax and I did the cuts and editing, and we ended up with a pretty fly tape!  The A side is a good mixed up 45 minutes of past flavours, loads of tracks mixed up in there, and the flip is all the latest import 12s that were out at the time.  It was so dope to hear this again as I sold all the tapes and lost the master!  Luckily DuckAlert had one kicking about and blessed me with it.  Here’s the cover with the tracklist:

So I am really chuffed to be uploading this as I thought it was lost forever, and this was pre computers for me, so the A side was done on a Tascam Porta 05 4 track, and the flip just a straight mix on my 1210s done in one hit.

Try and pass the word round on this one, it’s a snorter… enjoy!

Adam from Second to none, article from Evening News Portsmouth,Thursday October 3rd 1996

I was looking through some old pictures and stuff and came across this newspaper clipping I had saved.  It’s a bit yellowed, but I thought it deserved an airing on Disco Scratch.  Adam is a die hard B Boy with the South Coast’s Second To None crew (STN).

I first met Adam back in about 1992 and he was always around the scene.  He used to eat, shit, breathe & drink breakin’, I mean I’ve even seen him do a munchmill on the concrete outside a club (alright, after several drinks but still!!)

The rest of the lads in STN are all from Bournemouth, and cos we were all from Pompey as was Adam, he used to come and take anyone on at the Slurps nights we did, and one crazy Christmas, I managed to convince all my mates and Adam to go to the main shopping centre, Commercial Road in Pompey, get the boombox and the lino out and have it proper in front of thousands of startled shoopers!  I remember Stewie walking round with a hat after and gettin’ about 30 quid.  I managed a caterpillar and a bit of popping I think!  Full Infamous crew were there, it was a right laugh!

Anyway, here’s the clipping, respect to all the STN lads.
