Other announcements this week were the WaxWood show coming in October, furiously biting Repo’s Mike Allen Tribute Show by announcing I’ll be donning the moustache, glasses & accent of the UK’s Tim Westwood to try and do an early 1990s show justice by playing a typical selection of tracks, with a NY rap report (real too, no fakin’ jacks here son!!!) plus the break to the beat version excurion & hopefully I’ll be pulling a UK legend in to do a “Capital Rap Session” (LIPS ARE SEALED UNTIL THE NIGHT!!!), this will be an artist/group who was rhyming back then.  Because I want to do a really dope show, this might not happen until November as I want to ensure everything is exactly right (with ALL THOSE DOPE CAPITAL DROPS & JINGLES!!!)  so that’ll be worth the wait.

“What’s that big yellow thing in the sky?!!” my kids shouted at me about a week ago… in the West Midlands in the UK, we pretty much live in perfect vampire weather for most of the year, a’ la FORKS USA… well, I thought I’d celebrate the fact that it’s actually been lovely for a week, and looks to be nice all over the Easter bank holiday weekend with a little sunshine selection for the last 40 minutes…

This show was rudely interrupted every 15 poxeyed minutes by adverts…so after speaking with Sensei management it looks like we’ll be giving LiveStream the gas face and moving to a new host by next week, so keep checking back for updates, I’ll FB/Tweet & post it all over the gaff anyway… thanks to all those that tuned in live for staying with the show.

First of all I hope all the readers and subscribers to this site have had a great holiday period, and to all those that have had financial problems (actually, to those that haven’t as well!) I wish you all a prosperous and healthy new year.

I thought I’d post something up to let you know what is coming up in 2009.

First of all, over the weekend I will be upping a show of mine & Duce’s from 1993 which I ripped yesterday.  This will be followed with the next Simon Harris Breaks LP, with the rest following one a week over the next 5 weeks.

I will also hopefully be adding a great resource to the site, courtesy of Ambush, one of the most knowledgeable heads of UK Hip Hop I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.  This will be a (hopefully) fully searchable database of UK Hip Hop artists & their releases, with playable audio clips of every track.  There have been databses around before, some fantastic ones, and I hope that this will cover as many of the UK tracks released as I can possibly find.  If you are able to contribute, let me know, just a a comment.

The podcasts will continue throughout 2009, with personal friends and well known heads from the golden era of UK Hip Hop.

I am also going to be going through my video collection and gradually ripping content from that to upload to the Disco Scratch YouTube Account, which will be exclusive once again.

Well, I am also looking for a venue in Birmingham to have a monthly old school Hip Hop night.  I love the frontin’, posturing and boasting of Hip Hop, and the willingness to use your skills to beat others and be the best, so combining this with an uptempo party vibe and I reckon it’ll be a good night.  I reckon the first one will be in the spring, say around April, I’ll keep you posted.  I’m looking for people to help promote, advertise and arrange as I don’t have a huge amount of time on my hands… so if you are interested, please let me know!

In the chorus he says “Rock the girl G, I’m gonna give you every inch of my love” and before I heard the bit Rock the girl G I thought it was Craig G.

I haven’t heard this on a 12 and it’s not on the Kingpin LP (that’s if I’m correct, maybe not!)

Any chance someone can ID it?  It’s from a tape dated January 1992.
