Disco Scratch Radio 10 - Biscuits

More flavour than you can shake a Fox’s butter at, Disco Scratch Radio pushes sound waves into your shell-likes again with 2 hours of flirting with the danger and suspense of gritty hardcore UK rap, balanced with some nice Family Circle biscuits and a decent cup of tea, none of your foreign muck mind, proper PG Tips.  In a china cup.  Cos it tastes better.

Banter a plenty in the chat (unfortunately Fire-poxy-fox crashed so I lost all the chatroom talk for the nerds), good selection of LP cuts tonight, a break to the beat version excursion competition and spotlight on my man LG from Style Warrior.  He got on the old dog and bone for 10 minutes to chat about his website, T Shirts and the extra dope Heroes print, kindly donated to my homeboy Agent FINCH down in Bournemouth, winner of the Break To The Beat competition.

Here’s some pictures of the Music Of Life T Shirt and “Heroes” Prints he has on offer on his site:

Officially licensed from Simon Harris and super heavy decent material, looking forward to gettin’ my shizzle!

LG Sent me one of these dope “Heroes” prints, now waiting to be framed and up on my dining room wall…love it, highly recomended…

Disco Scratch Radio 9 – MC Duke in interview

Disco Scratch 9 MC Duke

Disco Scratch 9 MC Duke

The thing about having so much love for the old school UK scene is I am a fan as much as I am someone who runs a website.  These interviews are so fascinating and uncover so much stuff, I don’t think I’ll stop until I’ve unearthed every rock of UK Hip Hop!  MC Duke has blessed me with a couple of hours of his time and gone into serious depth about his roots in the Hip Hop culture.

For the uninitiated, MC Duke started with Hip Hop from it’s very first inception in the UK.  Before Hip Hop was even in the UK he was a record boy with his dad, learning the craft and being able to DJ and hold a crowd with just one turntable and a mic.  This was well before Rappers Delight even hit these shores.  From his early trip to the Bronx and return to the UK with his experiences in Covent Garden, through the golden era of UK Hip Hop, there’s practically nothing Duke hasn’t experienced or seen.

Duke unearths loads of gems about the old school sphere of Hip Hop in it’s fledgling years, discussing the formation of the early scene, his years on Music Of Life, events he attended and touches on the infamous situation with Overlord X.  He also answers the questions put in by members of the Heroes Of UK Hip Hop Forum and the Disco Scratch forum.  It was a pleasure to verbalise with Duke and I hope all the listeners to the Disco Scratch Show also enjoy this…

Big respect to Duke and his extended fam for the time, energy and love for the true school of UK Hip Hop. Download after the tracklist…

Simon Harris – Breaks, Beats & Scratches Volume 3

Posted by Waxer | Posted in Audio, Battle Weapon, Simon Harris, Vinyl Rip | Posted on 09-01-2009

bbs3_frontbbs3_backHere’s the 3rd installment of the Breaks, Beats & Scratches volumes… and by far the shittest yet!

I can’t help it, I got these for the scratches, but other than the 900 number loop and the scandalise loop, the rest is, well, plop. Even house lovers that know the “house” loops he made said they were gash.

Still, here it is… er, enjoy?

3rd installment of gash beats knocked up with no soul, I gotta admit, these albums were pony then and are equally as bad now!  I bought these back in the day purely for scratching purposes as they were the only ones out, but fuck me with a fish fork, the actual beats are dog shit, what was he thinking?  I gotta be honest, I can’t be arsed to write out the 50 scratches on the back, I did it on the last 2 and I’ve lost the will wityh this one, I hope it doesn’t spoil your enjoyment!

Anyway, enjoy!!!!
